A VISION WITHOUT BOUNDARIES
Starting
with a Vision
Cortina Tool & Mold Co. opened its doors in 1969 building
molds for the injection molding industry. The vision was to
build high quality molds for the injection molding industry.
Expanding
the Vision
In 1973, it was determined that having the ability to
run production parts would complement our tooling capabilities.
The first molding machines were purchased and a new chapter
began.
As
growth continued to be a steady constant for this young company,
in 1976 Cortina entered into a joint venture with Circle
Engineering becoming one of the first producers of injection
molded plastic wheels in North America, with the introduction
of the Poly-O line of Wheels.
Reflecting
Quality
In 1983 Cortina made it's first entry into the safety
products market by producing reflective warning triangle.
In doing so Cortina made a two-fold commitment; one to manufacture
the best warning devices available, and the second was to
take the technology to manufacturers of vehicular lighting
products through our custom injection molding group. To do
so Cortina made an investment in Tooling, as well as the
latest in Molding and Test 1 equipment. Many have attempted
to do this but few have been as successful.
"lf
it's plastic we can do it!"
Michael Giannelli, our President / CEO once said; "if
it's plastic we can do it!"
Based on this philosophy, Cortina set out to change the Construction
Barricade like it had done to the wheel years ago.
We were one of the original plastic barricade; manufactures
with the introduction of the PLASTX family of products.
Today we offer one of the largest and most complete lines
of Construction Barricades in the industry. Our family of
products offers many industry only features like replaceable
panels, recessed light brackets and "mix and match"
parts in our New M-Cade line.
Continuing the Vision
With our eye on the future, we are continuously
seeking out opportunities that will enable us to be a preeminent
supplier to the industries we serve. Today, The Cortina Companies,
through its diverse business units, specializes in the manufacturing
of products
for use in commercial vehicles, work zones, fleets, as well
as supplying component products for use in lawn & garden
products, material handling equipment and institutional supplies.
